Chattanooga and the surrounding areas have been slow the last few years regarding major storm activity. On top of that, Storm Chasers have flooded our market. Ask any true roofer what comes with Storm Chasers, and the bad highly outweigh the good. These guys look at performing unethical actions as a job duty.
THIS HAS TO STOP!
This is from a newer "local" (satellite office) roofing company to Chattanooga
These guys do this and say "wind did the damage" and have the claim filed as wind. Adjuster looks at it, sees a pattern and has an engineer confirm vandalism. That "wind" claim was just denied because wind had nothing to do with it.
Adjusters meet those guys like above, get mad, and has your house next with your roofer standing in the driveway. Is there going to be a unbiased inspection as it should be? He will more than likely look at your roof with his/her reading glasses on for a reason not to pay.
Someone knocks on your door and you agree to a free inspection. They vandalize your roof that had 0 damage before they stepped on it because they thought you were nice and feel they can have you file a claim. The claim is denied and insurance pays nothing. You are left with a bad roof and now have to prematurely pay out of your own pocket. Is that fair to you, when you just wanted an honest assessment? You are now their victim!
1. Have someone provide a 2nd opinion. 2. Be careful who you allow on your roof. 3. DON'T be pressured into signing anything you're uncomfortable with! 4. WATCH THEM while they're on your roof. If they raise a tab and flip it up and down repeatedly, start videoing!
